Free Online Oral History workshop, Sat. Nov. 7, 2020

Register here for the 4th Annual Kent, Washington We Are History Keepers! The Ethnic Heritage Council, University of Washington Libraries Special Collections and special co-hosts the Greater Kent Historical Society will be joined by Kent Meridian Senior High Key Club Members to feature sessions on gathering and preserving significant stories about the lives and experiences of individuals, families, and communities.

The workshop will start at 9:00 am with an interactive instruction session on planning, conducting, and preserving oral history projects. Instruction and online resources will cover best practices in conducting an oral history program, including before, during, and after the interviews. Don’t miss the special presentation of a recent Zoom oral history project conducted by UW iSchool students.

Three members of the Kent Meridian Senior High School Key Club will present their experiences recording their family histories. Key Club is an international student-led organization that helps members with opportunities to provide service in their communities, to build character, and to develop the leadership skills needed in the future. Kent Meridian Senior High is part of Pacific Northwest District, Division 32 PNW Kiwanis.
